PACCAR Parts Employees Join with Earth Corps for National Day of Caring

RENTON, Wash., Sept. 21, 2018  — On Sept. 14, PACCAR Parts partnered with Earth Corps as part of United Way’s National Day of Caring. Over 80 PACCAR Parts employees spent the day removing non-native plant species, implementing measures to prevent weed growth in the future and maintaining healthy areas of forest at Warren G. Magnuson Park in Seattle, Wash.

Their goal was to restore health to the forested areas and improve living spaces for local wildlife.

PACCAR Parts has paired with Earth Corps in the past on similar projects and has participated in the National Day of Caring, organized by United Way, for the last three years.

“PACCAR has great appreciation for giving back. It starts at the top with our leadership team, who actively encourage employees to participate in events like this or give back to our communities,” said Gina Bowker, PACCAR Parts leadership development participant and the coordinator for PACCAR Parts’ involvement. “PACCAR has a longstanding history with community giving and it’s not always about writing a check. This event is a unique way for our team to be hands on and get involved.”

Working together, PACCAR Parts employees helped ensure the continued health of the 350 acre park.

“Our employees are encouraged to give back to the communities we live and work in, and this event presented an excellent opportunity for us to do so,” said David Danforth, PACCAR vice president and PACCAR Parts general manager. “We take pride in the culture of philanthropy and volunteerism we have here at PACCAR and PACCAR Parts.”

PACCAR Parts Celebrates 45 Years of Uptime

RENTON, Wash., Sept. 12, 2018  — To commemorate 45 years as a division of PACCAR, PACCAR Parts’ employees celebrated on Aug. 16 at facilities around the globe. At the PACCAR Parts campus in Renton, Wash., alumni, retirees and current employees celebrated with acknowledgements from Ron Armstrong, PACCAR chief executive officer, David Danforth, PACCAR Parts general manager, and others.

From the very beginning, PACCAR Parts was a division that strived to deliver the best possible products and customer service, said Armstrong, who also detailed the growth and expansion of the company, from its beginning in a single building to the ever-expanding global operation it is today.

“Everyone at PACCAR Parts is proud to celebrate our 45th anniversary,” said Danforth. “Congratulations to the entire organization for providing industry-leading uptime support for more than a million customers around the world with the best dealers, products, the best services, and the best people.”

Darrin Siver, current PACCAR senior vice president and former PACCAR Parts general manager added that the culture of excellence at PACCAR Parts is driven by its employees.

The Aug. 16 celebration commemorates PACCAR Parts’ founding in 1973 to provide parts distribution, sales and service support to Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers. The first Parts Distribution Center (PDC) was opened in Renton in 1973. In the decades following, additional PDCs were established, first in locations across the United States and then in countries around the world.

During this period, PACCAR Parts also introduced innovative and customer service driven programs to move customers and businesses forward.

“From the first Roadside Assistance Center in 1999 to the comprehensive vehicle and technical support offered by today’s 365 Center, PACCAR Parts is committed to customer support 7/24, 365 days a year,” said Lisa Berreth, PACCAR Parts director of customer service.

Today, PACCAR Parts has a global network of 18 PDCs and provides support to over 2,200 DAF, Peterbilt and Kenworth dealership locations and TRP Stores worldwide.

Moving forward, PACCAR Parts is committed to industry leading uptime around the world. Recently, new parts distribution centers opened in Brisbane, Australia and Panama City, Panama and in October 2018, an all-new 160,000 square foot distribution center will open in Toronto, Canada, expanding service across eastern Canada.

“Every day, our mission is to exceed customer expectations,” said Laura Bloch, PACCAR Parts assistant general manager of operations. “For the next 45 years and beyond, PACCAR Parts will drive uptime and move customers and business forward.”
